The goal of High Ridge Animal Hospital's caring support team is to provide exceptional veterinary care and personal service to you and your pets.

Hospital Manager, Michelle MillerMichelle graduated from Tufts University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Shortly after graduating, she spent some time in Texas working with giraffes, elephants, and rhinos at the Caldwell Zoo. She began her career as a Veterinary Technician in 2009 and joined the High Ridge team in 2011. Michelle became our Hospital Manager in 2018 and continues working to improve patient care, client education, and community outreach.


Chief Veterinary Technician, Michael JenningsMichael earned his Associate's degree in Computer Science from the University of Hartford. He started at High Ridge Animal Hospital while still in high school and has been a full time employee here for over 30 years. Michael was drawn to the veterinary world for his love of animals. He has become, at this point, an irreplaceable part of the team. Not only does he have years of experience in the veterinary field, but he is also the hospital's main IT man. Without him, we would surely be lost in a sea of crashing computer systems. If Michael can't fix it, we know we are in trouble.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys golfing, softball, basketball, and skiing. He shares his home with his wife and two daughters as well as his cat, Smokey, and his dog, Rocco.


Veterinary Technician, Denixza LopezDenixza joined our team in 2018 and has dedicated over 15 years to the veterinary field. She earned several qualifications throughout her career, including a BS in Nursing and a Veterinary Dentistry certification. Her experience working in several general practices and emergency hospitals throughout Fairfield County has made her a valuable asset to our team. Denixza also spends her time being a super-mom to four amazing boys.


Veterinary Technician, Erin Short, with a canine friendErin joined our team in November of 2018. She came to us with a degree in Accounting before pursuing her passion for animals. She will be graduating from Norwalk Community College’s Veterinary Technician program in May 2019 as a licensed Veterinary Technician. She is currently our only Fear Free Certified technician and hopes to encourage practicing Fear Free techniques throughout the clinic. Erin shares her home with her loving dog, Molly.


Veterinary Assistant, Rachel Marquet, with two canine friendsRachel has been with the High Ridge Animal Hospital team since 2015. She received her Veterinary Assistant certification from Ashworth College in 2017. She discovered her love for animals when she was accepted into the Stamford Future Farmers of America program as a sophomore in high school. She enjoys working with large and small animals, exotics, and wildlife. Rachel shares her home with three dogs – Chip, Colt, and Zee, and three cats – Baggerha, Pip, and Shelby.


Veterinary Assistant High Ridge Animal HospitalChristine joined our team in 2019 with previous experience in animal care. She spent a few years in New Mexico before returning to Connecticut to pursue her love of animals. She is always willing to help and striving to make her patients as comfortable as she can under her care.


Receptionist, Yaniese RiveraYaniese joined our team in 2016 and quickly became a familiar face to our clients. She has been working with animals since high school and has gained a considerable amount of experience in the veterinary field since then. During Yaniese's time off, she attends college courses and works as an animal nanny.


Client Care Specialist, Sharie Barnum, with a canine friendSharie joined High Ridge Animal Hospital in 2017. She has over 25 years of customer service experience. When she's not at work, Sharie loves spending time in Disney with her two children, Haley and Dennis. At home, she has a cat named Pretzel and a dog, Milo, who enjoys coming to work with her every day.


Kennel Assistant, Jessica Rodriguez, with Chloe and AzraelJessica has been with High Ridge Animal Hospital since 2008. She is bilingual which makes her a great asset to our Spanish speaking clients. She has spent a lot of time at animal hospitals in the past and enjoys tending to the needs of all the boarding animals in her care. Jessica is the mom of two children, Brian and Nicole. She also shares her home with her dog, Chloe, and cat, Azrael.


Kennel Assistant Eddie LeivaEddie has been with us since 2008 as the overseer of our boarding facilities. He adores all of the dogs in his care and treats them as his own. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, Ailsa, landscaping, planting, and gardening.
